^{Lady Gaga born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, is an American recording artist. She began performing in the rock music scene of New York City's Lower East Side. She soon signed with Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records, upon its establishment in 2007. During her early time at Interscope, she worked as a songwriter for fellow label artists and captured the attention of Akon, who recognized her vocal abilities, and had her also sign to his own label, Kon Live Distribution.}

Gorillaz

^{Gorillaz is a British virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band members: 2D (lead vocalist, keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (lead guitar and occasional vocals) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). The band's music is a collaboration between various musicians, Albarn being the only permanent musical contributor. Their style is a composition of multiple musical genres, with a large number of their influences including: dub, hip hop, alternative rock, electronic and pop music.}

^{The band's eponymous debut album, released in 2001, sold over seven million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize 2001, but the nomination was later withdrawn at the band's request. Their second studio album, Demon Days, was released in 2005 and included the singles "Feel Good Inc.", "Dare", "Dirty Harry" and "Kids with Guns"/"El Mañana". Deftones

^{Deftones is an American Metal band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1988. Consisting of Chino Moreno (lead vocals and guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Chi Cheng (bass), Frank Delgado (keyboards and turntables), and Abe Cunningham (drums and percussion).}

^{The name "Deftones" was created by Carpenter who wanted to pick "something that would just stand out but you know, not be all cheese-ball at the same time." Carpenter combined the hip hop slang term "def", which was used by artists he listened to such as LL Cool J and Public Enemy, with the suffix "-tones", which was a popular suffix among 50s bands whose music he also enjoyed (e.g. Dick Dale and the Deltones; The Quin-Tones, The Monotones, The Cleftones and The Harptones). Carpenter said the name is intentionally vague to reflect the band's tendency to not focus on just one style of music.}

^{Diamond Eyes was originally scheduled to be released on April 27, but was pushed back three weeks to May 18, 2010 through Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records. The first song released off the album, "Rocket Skates," was available for free download through the band's official website on February 23, 2010. Diamond Eyes is the sixth studio album released by the American rock band Deftones. The album will be released through Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records on May 18, 2010. Deftones finished recording another studio album in 2008, tentatively titled Eros, but felt it did not represent the band artistically at the time.}

^{Cheryline Lim was born March 10, 1983. She was born to a Borneon-born Chinese father, and a mother of a mixed of Kadazan and Dutch heritage.}

^{Born in Malaysia, Lim and her family moved to Perth, Australia when she was 10 years old, As a child she gained the attention of her father after singing in his karaoke lounge, seeing her talent. She later started writing and producing her own music in her home studio. Sir Charles Dixon discovered her talents, after she uploaded some of her music onto Myspace Dixon took her material to Virgin Records and Virgin flew Che'nelle to New York at the end of 2005 to meet with representatives from the label. The chairman of the label and longtime music business baron, Jason Flom, signed her immediately. Within two days, she had completed the deal and was marketed as a world-class artist.}

Land Of Talk

^{Land of Talk is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec. The band consists of singer and guitarist Elizabeth Powell, bassist  Joseph Yarmush and drummer Andrew Barr.}

^{Before becoming the front-woman for Land of Talk, Elizabeth Powell performed as a solo artist as well as in many bands, at one point performing under the name ELE_K*. She began writing music at the age of fourteen while she grew up in Guelph, Ontario. She enrolled in the jazz program at Concordia University where she met Chris McCarron and Mark Wheaton with whom she formed Land of Talk. Eric Thibodeau replaced Wheaton on drums in May 2007 to complete a new lineup.}

^{"It's Okay" is a single from the album Some Are Lakes. The album was released on October 7, 2008. Drums on the album are performed by Andrew Barr of The Slip. Elizabeth Powell announced during a performance that the band would be going on hiatus after their tour with Broken Social Scene. The band did not in fact go on hiatus, but instead Chris McCarron left (amiably) to play guitar for The Dears. He was replaced by Joe Yarmush, and the band announced a West Coast tour for 2009.}
